Dropbox’s Dublin Studio gives a Virtual First workforce reasons to come together with intention. Rather than recreate full-day individual work, IA concentrated the office on team off-sites, learning, events, culture, and chance encounters—creating a flexible destination that complements remote work and makes every in-person visit more valuable to the organization.

Presence Becomes Purposeful
The concept, “unexpected arrivals and delightful departures,” is expressed through a meandering LED line that links spaces for discovery. It guides people along the corridor and gradually reveals collaboration nooks, team rooms, an IT desk, a nursing room, and other destinations. The journey adds curiosity without making navigation difficult. Mobile furniture adapts to changing group sizes, while each setting is calibrated for the kinds of focused bursts and shared work that benefit from presence. Instead of measuring value by daily occupancy, the Studio is designed around the quality of interaction—helping distributed teams use limited time together for decisions, learning, relationship-building, and cultural reinforcement.

Flexibility Extends Every Visit
Sliding partitions allow the all-hands space and café to operate independently or merge for larger events. Acoustic drapes resize the work lounge, movable walls adjust training rooms, and alcoves, touchdown points, and meeting rooms support short periods of concentration between group activities. A barista café offers individual, communal, and lounge seating near arrival, while windows on three sides bring daylight and views of Iveagh Gardens into the plant-filled interior. The Studio does not compete with remote work. Its adaptable infrastructure provides what distance cannot: shared attention, atmosphere, and a responsive setting that can change with each agenda, team, and reason for gathering.
